Transliteration Song lyrics from the album
Be Bayou by C.C. Elian
I've had a hard, hard day watching
Three couples fading away
They swirled in tandem with their own kind
Each one slowly drifting in their minds
One grey woman lay like a little elf
Her sunny days, her laughter on the shelf
Her husband was somewhat alright
Still walking though losing his sight
I could see those fence posts last year
It hardly mattered that I shed a tear
His wife too was going blind
My face she heard, my name she could not find
The sheer madness of it was
Their blindness came from a trusting cause.
That doctor in town is telling lies
He says he'll cure them but he steals their eyes.
The second opinion finally said...
If you'd seen me first, we'd be years ahead.
The old man's grown son looked just like him.
But unlike his father, he never learned to swim.
His third wife and her skintight clothes.
A goddess to herself, god only knows.
One thing both knew how to do,
Was love their own little boy it's true.
The hours they passed like stone,
Mid-day, two twilights, we were all alone.
And when it ended none too soon,
I saw the last two in the afternoon.
They were both neat and (and) mild,
Having chased from their home
All things once wild.
We all knew I was a stranger here,
But what's the choice between help and fear.
Through this time, some things I've come to know,
Life is as much what you see as what you show,
He who gets, is she who gives,
And in emptiness, all that matters lives.
Angel and devil are on the same side.
Sometimes one drives and the other one rides.

In the end it's all the same
When the fire comes where's the grace in blame.
For all things must keep their own account;
Invincible and silent, details mount.
The galaxy or atom, they count for one.
Try to cradle either in your palm,
It can't be done
Unless you think you've held
The hand of nothingness
If you think you got that far,
You'll probably want even less.
In the end its all a soul-felt play.
I tell you, I wouldn't mind, if I
Didn't have to pay.
And maybe, that's all that some of us need,
Is a forgiven fruit, not just the tendered seed.
But for most, life is everything in between
The polished product, one hopes the roots unseen.
Sunset, the day has come to a close,
Heaven or hell, it's what I chose.
Now I can enter the dreams in my mind.
Awaken to a world where all people are kind.
Where most are sister and brother,
And as for oneself, one does to the other.
But such a world can never be,
Until all illusions are shown to see.
And if I had to do it again,
I'd say, not just now,
Oh no, my friend.
Let me forget a few things first
That I may start the journey
With an honest thirst.
Let me forget how cruel people can be
How rare the words that set you free.
Let me not remember the rivers of blood
Spilled in the name of God and Love.
Let me not know the fallen by the road
Their backs broken, carrying another's load.
Yet if I can leave this world with a song,
I'll undergo all the way, no matter how long,
No, no matter how long.
